Questions & Answers
Question : Which is most practical; an electric wheelchair or electric scooter?
I like to attend baseball games.

Answer:
As belle said, it depends what are your needs. If you are someone who pretty much needs it just for long distance, you can walk short distances and transfer yourself, if you have no postural control issues or skin breakdown, then a scooter should be fine (typically much less expensive than a wheelchair). In contrast, an electric wheelchair typically is more compact (base width and length) for sharper turns within a home, can be accomodated with specialized seating equipment if you have postural control or skin breakdown issues, but is typically much more expensive and heavy. An electric wheelchair is really made for someone who cannot walk any distance independently and spends most of the day on the equipment (such as someone with a spinal cord injury). A scooter is more appopriate for someone who really just cannot walk long distances such as someone with degenerative joint disease.

Question : can you take an electric wheelchair when flying to majorca for a holiday?
can you take an electric wheelchair when flying to majorca for a holiday?

Answer:
Hey, You can take it as long as it can go in the hold of the aeroplane - you cant take it into the cabin of the aircraft, so if it folds down and isnt huge (eg taking up masses of space in the hold) you should be fine. The airline should be aware that there is a disabled person travelling and there will be procedures to get the person on the aircraft without your personal means of mobility. They have wheelchairs that can fit down the isles comfortably etc, and at a busy airport like Majorca they'll have provisions to get the person off the plane and to your electric one once its out of the hold. Best bet is to call the Airline and double check, (cos every airline is different) but im almost positive this is the case.
