The Invacare Absolute (formerly the Essential) wheelchair cushion provides pelvic stability and comfort at an affordable price. Its molded, dual-firmness foam construction uses firmer foam to support the hips and thighs, with softer foam under the ischials.

Faulty valves versus good design
The design of the cushion is good, had purchased a similar cushion twenty years ago which worked great and why I ordered. The valves cannot be securely shut to hold the air. At first I thought I had lost a piece that went into the opening but these tiny plastic covers to do hold down no less keep the air in. Inflated with three blows but valves make in unusable.
Rating :
Non-functional and poorly designed valve
The basic design is very good if only it worked properly. Unfortunately the air valves are very poorly designed. One of them leaked and couldn't be fixed so I had to send it back. It cost too much for shipping to risk going through it again. But the valves don't protrude from the inflatable. You have to press your mouth against the inflatable part to blow it up and then there is nothing to pinch to keep the air from coming back out while you try to press in a little plastic tab to stop the air. There are two valves, one for each side, and one didn't work at all.

Seat Cushion
Product seems to work well with overall good construction, but the valves are extremely difficult to use.
Rating :
Poorly designed--nearly impossible to inflate
Don't waste your money. Poorly designed. I practically ruptured a brain vessel trying to blow it up. If you are lucky enough to actually fill it with air--you won't be able to get the valves shoved in before lots of air leaks.
I injured my tail bone in bike accident and found an ordinary memory foam pillow to be a much more comfortable, portable and reliable choice.
Rating :
Product met my needs.
I had surgery and I was experiencing some pain when I sit. This product made it possible to sit comfortably. I recommend it for those who had (among other things) hemeroid or prostate surgery. I would have rated it 5 stars except that the valves are somewhat difficult to manipulate.

Description of item incorrect
Contrary to how this item is described, there are no 'safety straps to secure the solid back to wheelchair', with no way to attach cushion to the wheelchair, the cushion would not stay in place, and would be a constant source of frustration; I returned the one I had ordered.

Answer:
I did a lot of research for my diabetic boss but we live here in california - the best prices I can find was in ebay and if you need spare parts there is Value Mobility call FRANK 1-800 717 1252 - he delivers and you get a live person - very nice guy and answers all your questions and dependable in shipping item to you. As for the motorized wheelchair your biggest cost will be shipping and handling if you buy out of australia - can cost you as much as $900 to $1200 for S/H if you cannot find a local in australia because of packaging and weight. You can get good prices and mobility with Jazzy 600 by Pride, you can buy used one for $1200 to $2400 brand new cost $3700up. My boss had an old Jazzy 1100 and this model is still good mobility - can find used one for as low as $400 - $600.
